Viking Longship 1/35
Dave Cowley sent us photos of building his Viking Longship in 1/35 scale.

I'm very pleased with the boat - the pieces have gone together to make the shape very well, following the instructions. The hardest thing to do was the oars - in the end I decided that 20 were enough. (With the boat in full sail, most are stowed below deck, but the 20 are ready for when they reach harbour.) I also decided not to tie the shields onto the outside, but glued them together in a long strip and have rested them on the inside. But, this strip of shields can be moved and could be fastened onto the outside, or the boat can appear without them at all - I thought these options were worth having (I admit, tying the shields would have been very fiddly I think!).
Anyway, I'm very pleased with the way the ship has turned out - it really was the kind of boat fit for a king or earl, and you've produced a great kit for people like myself!
